I'm so impressed. I knew I was going to love this and YES I DO! Definitely one of the best this year and I will treasure it forever in mylife.

The use of natural sound, the delicacy of set decorations and clothes (with the colour-matching fans!), it's soothing, mesmerising and refreshing. It's actually so much lighter than expected. Suitable for multiple rewatches. (My new comfortfilm)

Wow, how I love a multilingual film. There are German, French, English, and Hungarian. Krieps masters all of them gracefully. What an incredibly talented actress! She is so compatible with period drama, from Phantom Thread to this, everything comes naturally in perfectharmony.

What a surprise! There is Colin Morgan from Merlin (TV show, 2008), who is charming more thanever.

And this is why we need more female directors. Marie Kreutzer captures Empress Elisabeth's soul and brings wit and a cheerfully sensibility to her life. She is alive on the screen more thanever.

Let's talk about the soundtrack (the best part,imo).

The soundtrack matches the rhythm and atmosphere so well. IT MATCHES MY SOUL as well. I was grinning. This is one of the best endings in filmhistory.
